Typed Character Echoes Twice?

Hi, list. I am not sure of what I have done today inadvertently, but now whenever I type something, each typed character is echoed twice and that, indeed, sounds very annoying. How can I fix this, please? Thanks! -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries

Hi, Actually, “impossible” is a strong, and wrong assumption. While cmd-option-l when at the Desktop is also my preferred mode, you can open this folder from the Dock. When focused on the Downloads folder on your Dock, press VO-shift-m to bring up the Contextual menu for that Dock item, type
