RE: New Screen Reader Users Community on Twitter

2022-02-28 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Brett and thank you.

Not only could I not locate Communities on either of my iOS or iPad app, latest
versions, but I contacted 4 of my local friends and they, too, do not see the
Communities tab. The people I contacted are not VoiceOver users.

I just went to the web portal, and, just as on the mobile apps, there is not a
Communities tab.

Hi Mark,
Spaces is where you can host audio only chats.
Communities is a separate tab.
Not sure why it isn't showing up for you.
Just to cover the obvious, this is on iOS on an iPhone (I have not tried this
on an iPad)?
Do you have the latest version of the twitter app?
Let me see if I can find out why the tab might be missing for you.
Brett

Is Spaces the new area to which you are referring?

Hi,
Communities are a pretty new thing on Twitter.
I thought I would create one and see how it goes.
I think the community tweets should show up in your timeline but you probably
should bookmark for easy access.
Having said that, the iOS app has a tab at the bottom of the screen for
communities and I am finding that to be a quick way to access the communities I
belong to.
On the web, communities is under the more item near the top of the page.

Is Voiceover Not Honoring My Configuration?

2022-02-28 Thread Fazil M.
Hi, Group.

Yesterday I reset my Voiceover to Factory Default.

Am I supposed to be losing my adding two languages, Arabic and Hindi when
resetting VO to Factory Default?

Other day, Mr. Kilburn (Tim) told me how to add languages and they were
working just fine but since the reset, however, VO is not respecting that
addition.

Could, Tim Kilburn, tell me again how to add those again, please?

I thought I saved that message of his but, for some reason, I am unable
finding it.

Thanks!

arrow right or option-right to go by word. Once on the link, press

Re: Continuity Feature

2022-02-28 Thread Brad Snyder
I use continuity all the time, and find it works about 95% of the time.
When it doesn't work, I've never found it necessary to restart my devices.
I usually just give the action another try, and find that it works just fine.

The correct keyboard command is VO + CMD + Spacebar.
There is no ALT key on a Mac keyboard.

notifications

2022-02-28 Thread Caitlyn Furness
Hi,

When I get a notification, VoiceOver seems to be stuck on it. How do I dismiss
the notification window? Command w doesn’t seem to work for me. Also, is
there a way to keep the notifications to pop up again later? I am running Big
Sur on a MacBook Air.

Thanks!
Caitlyn

Re: Alternativ web browser

2022-02-28 Thread 'Andrew Lamanche' via MacVisionaries
I find myself using Brave more and more often. Very fast. Download it from
www.brave.com and look for an appropriate platform.
You can install Brave on all your devices and have them synced.
