I looked for updates on this but could not find anything. I expect Apple needs
to change something in their entitlements before per-app sound grabbing can
occur on the computer. Perhaps when the .4 update to Sonoma comes out we will
hear more about this.

Yes, you do it once and never ever do it again. Doesn't matter if you update
the application or the macOS. Once it's done, it's done forever on that machine
for all rogue amoeba apps.

But that's my concern! I would agree with "set and forget" as long as
you don't update. But does that hold if you update to the latest release
of MacOS? I suspect not, and that's the reason to wait, imo.
