Re: Strange new behavior when using Siri to play music from my homepod

2021-01-20 Thread Jürgen Fleger
Hi Jonathan,
couldn‘t find an option to define how it shall work. I lokked in the Home app,
in Settings > Music and in the list of speakers in Control Center.
Any idea where to find this option to configure?
Thanks and all the best
Jürgen

Re: Strange new behavior when using Siri to play music from my homepod

2021-01-17 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Found it! Thank you, Jonathan. I never knew that was there, and I have long
been annoyed by the watch coming on anytime I launch an audio app on my phone
or other device. Regardless of the battery outcome, I will be very glad to have
this changed.
Cheers,
Donna

I do, but that’s actually something I like. I agree though, it should be
something you should be able to turn on or off.

Re: Strange new behavior when using Siri to play music from my homepod

2021-01-17 Thread Jonathan Cohn
That is a feature of IOS 14. I believe it can be turned off on your Music app
preferences. I personally don't experience this, if I ask Siri to play Dark
side of the Moon, that is all it plays.

Hi,

what I don‘t like at all on my HomePod is the following: I ask Siri to play an
album and it continous to play any other music after the end of that album. Do
you experience that as well?

noticed a fast drain on my iPhone battery in recent days. I didn’t,
 unlike you, connect the two.

Now that you made me aware, I’m also not happy with this adjustment/bug or
 whatever it is.

Hi Jonathan,

I don't see that. I've looked in Notifications, General, and Music. It
certainly seems like that's something I would want to be off.
Cheers,

Jeff,

The thing that made me notice it was my watch. It positively kills the battery
life on my watch. Not only does it drain the battery, but it makes it so the
battery doesn't charge properly either. And the only way to stop the rapid
battery drain is to completely power my phone off and back on again. this
really sucks.
Cheers,

Strange new behavior when using Siri to play music from my homepod

2021-01-14 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hi all,

For about the past week, when I use Siri to play music from my Homepod—also
playing to some Sonos speakers—the Airplay control dialog displays on my other
i-devices—phone, iPad, etc. This never used to happen, and I don’t like it. It
used to be that unless I manually airplayed something from my phone or other
device, airplay was not initiated. I prefer to just use my voice to control
music playing on the Homepod. It also seems to be draining my watch battery. Is
there anything I can do to get the Homepod to go back to the old behavior?
