RE: A Question for Veteran iOS, iPAD OS Apple Music App VoiceOver Users

2023-08-06 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Rajiv,

It's good to hear from you.

Okay, thank you for your reply.

To say that I am underwhelmed with Siri's Apple Music management capabilities
in comparison to that of Alexa's Amazon Music management capability, would be
the understatement of the summer, thus far, (smile).

Hi Mark,

As a fellow Apple Music user, I am afraid that all you can do with Siri is the
following: "Hey Siri, add this album to my library." "Hey Siri, add this song
to my workout playlist."

In another words, speak the name of the playlist to which you'd like to add the
song.

Thank you.

Subject: A Question for Veteran iOS, iPAD OS Apple Music App VoiceOver Users

Hello All,

I have been an Amazon Music subscriber for about 2 years, now. When a song is
playing on any Alexa enabled device, I can say, "Alexa, I like this."
Alexa will reply with something like, "OK, Mark, got it."

Later, when I open the Amazon Music app on any device, there is an
automatically generated play list called something like "Mark's Favorites."

I have come to use this feature a great deal and, apparently, have begun taking
it for granted.

Now, as part of my Apple One subscription, I have started using my Apple Music
app on both my iPhone and iPad.

For the past few days, when various songs were playing, I said, "Siri, I like
this." Just like Alexa, Siri responds with, "got it." Upon hearing this, I
foolishly assumed that, like Alexa, some kind of playlist or station would be
populated with a list of the songs I specifically liked, during playback.
Wrong, wrong, wrong

Wow!

After conducting some extremely unsatisfying searches on the net, from what I
can tell, no automatically generated playlist is created by Siri. Then, I read
that one can tell Siri to add the currently playing song to a specific playlist.

Then, I read that one can create smart playlists that, in effect, mimic the
functionality of Alexa.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that one cannot create smart playlists
via the Apple Music app on iPhone or iPad? Question: is this true??? If so,
it is crazy!!!

So, I am posting this in hopes that someone will correct the info I have
obtained or confirming it. And no, I do not want to create a shortcut in order
to create / manipulate playlists.

All replies greatly appreciated.

Mark
