Well I achieved precisely this under Mavericks with no problems but to
be honest I disabled all activities when I upgraded to Yosemite as there
was a suggestion that Activities were setting up a Voiceover Performance
lag and I concluded it was no real hardship to press the left and right

1. Quick Nav on in the settings of this Activity?
2. the checkbox to enable the Quick Nav settings section?

I want to set up my Mac so that the state of the quick nav toggle is changed
automatically when apps gain focus. I want it to be on in Safari, and off in
Mail.
I tried to create an activity associated with the Mail program, in which I
disabled quick nav. However, when Mail gains focus,
