Re: How to turn on auto Language switching in High Sierra

2021-08-29 Thread 'Andrew Lamanche' via MacVisionaries
Please, keep on badgering Apple accessibility about multilingual issues as
voice switching. It was messed up when High Sierra came and it was never fixed
thereafter. I’ve been writing to Accessibility a about this for over 5 years
now and they haven’t’ improved a bit about this. Please start writing and
complaining about this forcefully. A single voice like myself is being ignored
but we have to act en masse. In Sierra, you could press a shortcut key
combination to alternate between the. two different languages you use easily.
You could also choose a number of languages in the language rotor you mostly
use. Since then you have languages in the rotor you never have chosen & you
can’t remove them. It’s a mess. But Accessibility don’t listen to
multilanguage folk like us who must use several languages, some of us for work.
The Greek language for instance is still broken since Sierra and they haven’t
fixed it although I’ve been begging for 5 years now. It’s a joke. Please
please write to them to fix language facility on mac.

Re: How to turn on auto Language switching in High Sierra

2021-08-29 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hi Jonathan,

I’ve been testing this using mail, because I write a lot of email in Spanish.
If you can create an example that works, I’d be very interested.

Thanks for your help.
Best,
Donna

Re: How to turn on auto Language switching in High Sierra

2021-08-28 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Donna,
What program is your primary concern with language switching? Let me see if I
can create an example that works.
Though I would think going to practically any web site in Spain should cause
the language to switch.

Best wishes,

Jonathan Cohn
