Re: Logos Bible Software Accessibility Status
Hi, I used Logos many years ago when I still had some vision in my left eye. I had well over 3000 resources and really hated losing Logos Platinum Plus additional resources when I lost the rest of my vision a few years ago. There are a few Pastors like myself who worked with them in an attempts to increase accessibility. And some may still be working with them. However, I was informed maybe five years ago give or take a year that the programmer in charge of Accessibility was being reassigned to another project. That was a long time ago and things may have changed. But that was how it was back then. I very dearly miss those resources. Especially in my current position. Re: Logos Bible Software
I actually have been using the Logos app on iOS for the last couple years. It is very usable and I can also read both Greek and Hebrew Braille on my braille display. There are times where you have to actually use your finger to get to different parts of the screen, however, it is still very accessible and you can read all of your text. I also have found that using vertical navigation helps at times. There is another way to read logos content. Go to http://biblia.com The mobile version of the site works much better with screen readers, so as soon as you get to the site, click about biblia and then choose to switch to the mobile view. Re: logos bible software 6 with voiceover on the mac
I will be curious to know how it works. I read logos books as well, but I do it through the web interface. I do know that the IOS version of the app works fairly well. Original message: Hello all, I am thinking about purchasing logos bible software 6 for the mac. I’m going to make the first payment and give it a test run with voiceover, but I was wondering if anyone has had a go with it with voiceover. I know that a previous version was accessible, and the sales person I spoke with was familiar with voiceover. I also posted to the logos bible software forums to see if anyone has had a gone with it with voiceover on the mac, but so far no response. Has anyone on here played with it? When I get it and have a chance to play with it, I will report on the accessibility of it. Re: Logos Bible Software
Hello everyone, While these Bible sites are fine, they all are completely reliant on the Internet, which is something I do not want to be completely tethered to. I am interested in a program that will allow me to download the content, so I may have access to information without needing to connect to the Internet. This would prove especially useful when I am in areas where Internet access is not available. Contrary to modern first-world belief, the Internet is not ubiquitous. It is a shame however, that Logos is not voiceover accessible because this software package seems ideal for edification. Well, @ least not in my experience. And, I did try to contact the developer, twice, with no joy. So, as disappointed as I was not to have bible software on the Mac, I contacted Optasia Ministries had a huge collection of bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, etc, etc sent to me. It can be a bit cumbersome using HTML, text, various other formats of files; but it works just reminds me of having a bunch of books on my real desktop. I, also, have had great success using BlueLetterBible.org online. Lastly, a mod on another list has noted—on several occasions— how happy he is with the BlueLetterBible software for IOS, that he uses with VoiceOver. Anyway, I hope this helps, CJ On Mar 29, 2015, at 3:23 AM, Emilio Hernandez emilio.s.hernan...@gmail.com wrote: Hello everyone, Has anyone downloaded Logos, a Bible software program for the Macintosh? Re: Logos Bible Software
Hi Amelio, Unfortunately Logos is not accessible on the Mac. However, it does work pretty well on iOS. It is very usable and you can even use a refreshable braille display to read both Greek and English text.
