Hi,
Although pages is easier to use in many aspects, i do not like it and that’s
for one reason and one reason alone: You can’t load a Word document into Pages,
edit or modify it and then save directly to Word format again, oh no, you’ll
have to ”export” it into Word. The only formats you can
I don’t find exporting any more difficult than saving. I personally don’t know
why Apple does not allow for saving as a Word file, but exporting isn’t an
issue, unless I am missing something here.
Take care and have a great day.

Personally, I do all my word processing in TextEdit, and then transfer that
draft file into a pages document. I use the pages document to add features that
are not available in TextEdit such as headers and footers, tables, and some
formatting as well. I consider the TextEdit as the draft
Hello Christina,
I use Pages all the time and like it. I use all kinds of formatting, insert
tables, text boxes and images. There are just a few accessibility problems,
mostly to do with insufficient information available to VoiceOver.
Cheers,
Anne

Hello Krister,
Pages, and iWork in general, is Apple’s proprietory word processing format and
it only saves into Pages format. All other formats require exporting. This is
normal. Pages is not Word. Why should it save into Word format?
Cheers,
Anne

Hi Anne,
Openoffice has its own proprietary format as well, but it doesn’t force us to
use it. It would be simple just to have the format menu in the save as dialog
include word as well but it doesn’t and the result? if you don’t know what you
do you’ll end up with 2 versions of the same
Hai,
I use textedit and nisus, nisus because you can easily save in many formats and
also read pdf files.

I checked the latest Ms Word and it looks as though something has been fixed
there. Earlier i wasn’t able at all to read large documents or in fact
documents over 1 page in length, but now even larger documents can be read. As
for other bugs i don’t know.

Hi, I’m sorry but i’m not so much into heavy word processing myself so i
haven’t been able to check into the matter of tables. When i do word processing
it’s often enough for me to be able to create text with some headers and maybe
lists.
Sorry i can’t be of more help here.

Have you checked out working with tables in Ms Word on the mac? it's quite
often a deal breaker for many of us who need to be able to access tables.

Hi!
I found that Word didn't seem to expose tables the same way Pages did.
For instance, even though I'd see tables in the document body, I'd also
see those tables outside of the document and I'd be able to work with
them from there. That just confused me. I am not sure if this has been
Ok, I apologize for my confusion, are you guys saying that you use pages? Or
are you guys saying that you don’t like any of the solutions? I am hoping that
I can learn one and stick with it. :)

I personally use and like Pages, although I use Word under Windows for some

Hello,
I would love some opinions about Word Processing on the Mac with Voice Over. I
seem to remember hearing great stuff about Nisus some time back. I looked it up
in the Mac app store and noticed it hasn’t been updated since 2013. I also have
seem some recent vague discussion on Office 365
I read in the recent Nisus newsletter that the latest version - el Capitan
compatible - is going to be submitted to the appstore. It's a nice app but I
don't think it supports tables which is a deal for most users. The only app
that supports tables is Pages. I had great hopes for Ms Word on
