Hi, They're not likely put there by Apple, unless you checked some boxes. In Settings, iCloud, Photos, you can check on if you have the iCloud Photo Library enabled. If so, then you'll need to be careful as deleting a photo from the iPhone will delete it from every device you use iCloud
