At this point I always recommend, “Call Apple accessibility. ” If the tech

you are blind and am having problems navigating in systems preferences, or some
other excuse.

I have the right stuff checked. I only have 1 iCloud account so I think that
must mean both devices are checked into that one account unless one of them
isn't logged in at all. how do I check that? also, what do I do when I want to

Make sure both devices divices are logged into the same iCloud account. Then go

handoff. Check the box. Then on your iPhone, go to Settings, General, AirPlay,

Well, for what it’s worth, I just checked my copy of iOS 8 Without the Eye, and
it is very clear that handoff can benefit multiple iOS devices. So Heather
must have misremembered somehow. In fact, I’m fairly sure I had that

Hello Shawn, as the author of that book, I can assure you that it makes it
clear that hand-off works not just between compatible Macs and iDevices, but
between compatible iDevices too.
Here's the opening paragraph of the Continuity chapter, where hand-off is

One thing though, if the tool discovers that your mac doesn’t have a Bluetooth

that fact and quit, so i personally didn’t have any use for the tool.

This in fact can be done. My mac is the early 2011 model, so I can only use
hand off with my iPhone 5S and iPad mini2.

Read all the warnings. You’ll patch kernel extensions, and most likely need an

Hi. I know you Matthew and Chris are on the Peel The iPhone List. In the

Hi Lisette. How old is your Mac? Apparently hand off only works on 2012 or
later Macs. If it's older than that, the only thing you'll be able to do is
phone calls and text messages.

Hi Shawn,
I just got a new MBA last month and it still doesn't work. It didn't work on my
older Mac, so I thought getting a new one may help. That's not the reason I
got a new Mac though (smiles). People rave about hand off and it's just odd
that it has never worked for me.
Cheers

It should work with a new Mac as long as you are running Ysomite. However,
you need to configure it first on all devices before it will work properly. It
didn't for me until I got all my devices configured to work with it.

Yosemite for the Mac and iOS 8.X are required on your devices. You have to
turn it on in System preferences in the General Pane. Also be sure Bluetooth
is enabled and you are signed into iCloud with the same account on all devices.
You also have to have it turned on on the other devices.
