Hi! Its useful if you’re using the command line and have to type the sudo command to allow access to several commands and options. I guess you type sudo and then the command and press enter and then instead of entering your password you just use your touchID. I don’t have a Mac with Touch ID.

There’s an interesting but not much publicized new feature in MacOS Sonoma: you can enable Touch ID to be used with the sudo command, and this configuration change persists across operating system updates. To make the change, copy /etc/pam.d/sudo_local.template to sudo_local in the same
