Re: VO friendly way to delete old time machine backups

2018-04-08 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

Doing this through the Finder is not recommended. It can corrupt your backups
and make them ineffective. If you use the Time Machine method, consistency is
maintained. If you enter Time Machine, then use the Window Chooser to access
the Time Machine controls, you are able to backup, restore and remove old
backups accessibly. The key is to use the Window Chooser while in the Time
Machine area.

backups. They are folders with names corresponding to the dates when they were
created. If you invoke contextual menu on the folder you wish to delete,
there’s an option there to move it to the trash.

Hope this helps.

VO friendly way to delete old time machine backups

2018-04-08 Thread Paul Hopewell
Hello,
I am running Mac OS 10.13.4 on a new iMac. I need to delete some old time
machine backups to make space for a rather large SuperDuper backup. IS there a
VO friendly way to do this? I tried doing what Google search suggests but I
could not see the list of backup dates to choose the ones to be deleted. It
seems that the standard way to do this is not VO accessible.
Many thanks.
