Thanks for your reply Scott; the busy message does come up with other programs,
but not hardly nearest so frequently as it does with mail. In fact, it really
isn't annoying with the other programs because it happens so in frequently.

Try avoiding the moving of messages to the Trash inside threads, but outside
(i.e. in the message list). Become familiar with and use the
Command-Option-Delete combination, to delete messages immediately, at greatly
improved speeds. This is permanent so be careful.

One thing I’ve found if you have a rotating disk instead of SSD the file system
slows greatly over time and requires a reinstall / refresh. This is not the
