2012-04-04 Thread Maxwell Ivey
hello; i was playing around with iMovie earlier. It confused me, but at least
everything seamed to be labelled which was a big improvement over the last time
i tried it. don't want to get real fancy just be able to record a video and
then trim off the ends. please keep me in the discussion. thanks, max

It's available from Apple here:

It also enables basic editing so it might just be all you need.

Re: accessible iMovie?

2012-03-07 Thread Nektarios Mallas
Hello Mike and friends.
So, I am experimenting with iMovie myself for the last couple of days.
I managed to drag and drop video from finder in to the event fewer group, and I
am now able to play the clip. I am able to move within the clip using the up
and down arrows with the shift key.
How do I cut video from the exact location that I am to the beginning of the
clip?

Kind regards.
Nektarios.

Re: accessible iMovie?

2012-03-07 Thread Michael Malarsie
Unfortunately there is not a way to do it in iMovie. Once your video is
published however you can convert it to any format you want with a program
called MiroVideo Converter.
If I remember correctly I got it from the App store and it is totally
free.

Re: accessible iMovie?

2012-03-07 Thread Eric Oyen
I am looking to do the same. I have a sony HCR-DC52 handicam and it is hooked
up to my mac as a webcam right now. I have some tapes that I need to transfer
to disk.

the only stumbling block is the cost of the new iLife package. I don't want all
that other junk, just iMovie. currently I am running iMovie 08 which has some
accessibility issues (it doesn't tell me the number of clips in the clip frame
for instance) and most of the buttons are unlabeled.

I can tell you, being a total and producing video is a lot harder than it was
when I was simply a low partial.

you can download imovie 11 through the app store for a reasonable price.

yep I know that feeling from years ago being visually impaired about 12 years

the only stumbling block is the cost of the new iLife package. I don't want
all that other junk, just iMovie. currently I am running iMovie 08 which has
some accessibility issues (it doesn't tell me the number of clips in the clip
frame for instance) and most of the buttons are unlabeled.

I can tell you, being a total and producing video is a lot harder than it was
when I was simply a low partial.

I have been making YouTube videos in iMovie for a few months. What do you
 want to accomplish?

I am thinking of getting back into using iMovie. I have the older program
(version '09) and the scroll areas are not accessible nor are some of the
buttons. does anyone have any updated information about iMovie and using
 voiceover?
