to get a correct result using VO + t be sure you are interacted with the text
and your cursor is on the text.

I'm writing a template to use for client reports, and I'm using Text Edit. I

Well, this is just weird. I went to the menu as you suggested, and align
left is checked! Voiceover insists that the text is aligned to the center
when I press vo-t, however, I'm not sure whom to believe here
on the mac?

Thanks for the suggestion, but it does not work for me. I also tried
highlighting the text to be aligned left, but that did not help either. This is
very odd.

using the menu instead. I know that sounds weird, but maybe that will work.
