Hi, the best way to do this is through disc utility. Bring up disc
utility, select your external hard drive, select the partition tab and
follow the instructions. It will ask you how many partitions and what
sizes and formats you want.

This can also be done on the fly without the need to erase the current data on
the HD. Go into the Disk Utility, select the actual drive, not the specific
volume, then select the Partition tab. Next, resize the current partition by
entering a new size that is, in your case, 250 GB less
Hi everyone,
I have a 2 gb external hd which is now one big partition, its mac os x extended
journal format.
I want to preserve part of it for data storage and use a 250gb part for carbon
opy cloner.
What is the best way to go about this?
