Hmm, that’s interesting. I actually thought the attention to audio was pretty
good. If you do go get a demo, I’d be curious to hear your thoughts.
Cheers,
Donna

Re: Anyone have the VisionPro?

2024-08-03 Thread 'Janina Sajka' via MacVisionaries
I was intriguied by a recent review of Apple Vision in Sound and Vision
available here:

https://www.soundandvision.com/content/apple-vision-pro-facing-future

My synopsis of this article is very impressive visuals, but troubling
lack of attention to audio. I'm even thinking I need to obtain a
personal demo at my local Apple store to either confirm or deny this
conclusion.

So from my own experience, I’ve taken videos with them, which I really enjoy
doing, used the “hey Meta” feature to read the label on an amazon package I
received, which took 3 phrasings to have it do this, but finally found out who
the package was addressed to, along with every detail on the label, and have
had them identify several items from vitimins to a can of Pinto beans I planned
to cook with dinner last week.

Re: Anyone have the VisionPro?

2024-08-02 Thread Jessica Moss
I can’t either at this point, considering the fact that I’ve been hearing that,
unless something has changed, Apple isn’t allowing 3rd-party access to it’s
camera/mic, so if we wanted to use it with Aira/be-my-eyes,/Envision, we’re out
of luck there. I just bought a pair of Ray-Ban’s for way less than that, and
am really impressed with all I’ve been able to do with them so far.

Subject: Anyone have the VisionPro?

Hi all,

I just had a chance to try the Vision Pro. It was very interesting, and I was
amazed at what a good job Apple has done adopting it for VO users. So here are
my questions for anyone who has one. Where does it fit into your current
system? Does it replace your Mac? Your iPad? What made you decide to
purchase it,? Do you feel it was worth the extra cost, given that you can buy
two Macs for the price of one VisionPro? If yes, why?

I’m very intrigued by it, but I don’t want to just add another very expensive
device to my Apple collection. So I’m trying to figure out where it would fit
in, given that I’m a blind user. I do have some vision, and I was almost
successful setting it up to track my eyes, but not quite. That was probably
just as well, because I couldn’t see well enough to read the Menus.
Cheers,
Donna

Hi!
I wish I had them but I guess they’re quite expensive and the battery isn’t the
best.
Bless.
