Hi, I have an index 5 and yes it does have the built in programme but it is not great in my experience it kept putting D instead of another letter and there was a very limited ability to format documents etc. It does work and would do in the short term but if you are in a position to get something like DBT then for me it is worth it. > On 11 Feb 2020, at 17:44, Anders Holmberg wrote: > > Hi! > If you have the luck to use one of the later Index embossers you don’t need > any formatting prograhm. > It has a built-in one from start. > I don’t understand why other embossers do that automatically. > /A > >> 10 feb. 2020 kl. 21:44 skrev 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries >> : >> >> No, right now if I need to convert a file to bRF, I do it on my PC. >> Cheers, >> Donna >> >> Sent from my iPhone >> >>> On Feb 10, 2020, at 3:33 PM, 'E.T.' via MacVisionaries >>> wrote: >>> >>> That was my goal too. Hi! If you have the luck to use one of the later Index embossers you don’t need any formatting prograhm. It has a built-in one from start. Well, I had Duxbury 11.3 for windows and got 12.4 for windows as a free upgrade. I don’t know why. I tried Duxbury on the Mac but didn’t like it at the time. I don’t know what it is like now on the Mac but because I use to use Duxbury on a daily basis felt comfortable with it and would recommend it if you were going to do serious transcribing.
