Re: How to edit a table in Pages

2020-06-12 Thread 'Andrew Lamanche' via MacVisionaries
Hi Donna,

When working with tables in Pages, I first interact with the table in question
and then I use vo+arrow keys to move through the cells. Vo+up arrows will
take you straight to the row below or above. If a cell is empty, I just start
typing the content and it is inserted into it. If the cell has already got
text in it, and i want to edit it, I press vo+spacebar. This highlights all of
the content in the cell so be careful since if you press any key, it will
immediately replace the existing content. So I usually use the familiar text
editing commands to move through the text and correct it. once I’ve finished
correcting text, I press vo+shift+up arrow to stop interacting with the cell
content and move to another cell with vo+spacebar. Please be aware that once
you’ve reached the end of the table, i.e. you here the familiar end sound,
pressing tab will add another row below to the table.

Hope this will help a little.

Re: How to edit a table in Pages

2020-05-27 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

Most tables in Pages are actually miniature Numbers spreadsheets. So, whatever
commands you use in Numbers, should work within the table set into Pages. Now,
if when you press the tab key, it just adds a tab to the Pages layer, then it
sounds like focus is not properly within the table itself. Tabbing around
within the table should work as you’re explaining. Normally, you just type
what you want in the cell that has focus, press return and it is there. I’m
not sure what is exactly happening for you other than a possible focus issue.
