Re: Radio Astronomy and the iPhone
Hi. I don’t know which radio telescope the app utilized. One of the people explaining the use of the app was named Yuma, and I think I may have located the company in Australia with which he is affiliated. I really hope that he can assist me. Re: Radio Astronomy and the iPhone
Good afternoon. If it was connected to the radio telescope at Arecibo Puerto Rico, that telescope collapsed a few years ago. I recommend checking at NASA’s or NOA’s web site for more information Thomas Frank vermont...@gmail.com > On Mar 14, 2023, at 11:04 AM, Michael Busboom wrote: > > Hello to everyone, > > A few years ago, there was an app which was apparently in Beta that enabled > blind people to experience radio astronomy on their iPhone. Re: Radio Astronomy on the iPhone
Hi Michael, AstreOS is my passion project, and I am still working on it, though for the past year and a half it's been slow due to my finishing my degree in computer science and working on research for a mac version of the astronomy app, doing lots of presentations and workshops etc. You can head to https://astreos.space to get the link to the test flight. It works fine, and we're developing some backend code for a citizen scientist feature which I am also putting into the mac OS version. The mac OS version is a bit more scientific, less astro gazer and more radio astronomy on top of the visual standards used by astronomers globally. It has been featured at a workshop on audible universes recently, and I currently supervise a student to finish off the 3D audio system that will work on surround sound. Since I have just graduated, I will have more time to focus on the official release of both apps, so I'm looking forward to post some updates soon :) Have a great weekend, Yuma > On 23 Nov 2021, at 8:44 pm, Michael Busboom wrote: > > Hello everyone, > > Quite some time ago, a blind individual wrote on the blindness-related Apple > lists about an iPhone app that permitted a blind person to be able to hear > celestial bodies.
