Yes, High Sierra and Windows 7. NAT is set. I changed it to bridgd, no go, 
went back to NAT, still no go.

Have you by chance setup some kind of filtering within your router that might 
have kicked you off wifi when you changed the computers name?

Not sure that is where I need to look. Everything was fine until I changed 
the computer name. I may have changed something else without realizing it. I 
get the error "Windows cannot detect any wireless interfaces".

I assume you have the windows 7 vm in fusion and on a notebook running a mac os 
of course.

 Try making the network settings point to using NAT network address translation.

The host machine should be the gateway between the wifi connection and your vm.
Your vm should be using the notebook or host computers network connection 

See if you can find the settings for the fusion application and then the 
network config

   Update. It looks like its a setting in VMware Fusion where wireless 
is not working. In its preferences under Network wi-fi is available. I 
would sure like to solve this!

using VMWare 8, so things might have changed.
