Re: battery issue after IOS update

2016-09-18 Thread Scott Granados
Oh sure, great question. So it depends on the protocols used. The 802.11AC
protocol is many times faster, uses more points on quadrature modulation and
can draw more power. My home network is AC and work is N, where N might be
64quad the home network is 256quad. The specific protocol used can have impact
on draw.

Re: battery issue after IOS update

2016-09-18 Thread Scott Granados
I notice for example the battery drain at home on my airport Extreme AC access
point is higher than when I join the WiFi network at work.

That’s why I was thinking that might be worth looking at. Also if you use WiFi
calling that may be the source of some drain.

Re: battery issue after IOS update

2016-09-17 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

I had this for a bit as well. It seems to have got better now. I chalked it
up to the downloading of apps and media that goes on in the background even
after the initial update. It seemed so bad to begin with that my regular
iPhone charger didn't seem to have the ump to charge the phone as it was
sometimes draining power even though it registered as charging and connected to
AC power. The second night after I updated, I charged it with an iPad charger
instead of the iPhone one and it all seems back to normal. Not sure if that
had anything to do with it or if it just finished all the background stuff it
needed to do after the update.

Later...

Re: battery issue after IOS update

2016-09-17 Thread Mary Otten
It certainly seems like it on my 6S. And I'm not sure on my iPad mini two. I
use it a lot less and I use my success. And a lot of the time the screen is
locked, since usually I'm using it for reading with voice dream or music. So
battery drain might be less that way.

Re: battery issue after IOS update

2016-09-17 Thread Scott Granados
Hi Simon, I have not experienced this personally but I have heard of there
being issues on IOS 10 after update. You might try a restart but I’m sure
you’ve tried all that obvious stuff. Anything else change like you recently
update to 802.11AC or something? I have heard of the problem though but I
haven’t experienced it so not sure the fix.
