Re: VMware fusion and focus blue connection issue

2017-08-20 Thread Otto Hylli
Hello Andrew
I am using jaws 17. I have not yet solved the problem. Luckily this is not a
major problem for me since I also have a Windows 10 desktop where the focus
works and of course it also works in Mac OS. Still it would be nice to get it
working in the Windows VM as well.

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately it did not help. The driver
installed successfully and I went through the whole focus blue setup
process starting withpairing it with Windows and then adding it to
Jaws as a braille display but Jaws was not able to connect to it. I am
using Jaws 17 which I forgot to mention in my previous email. I also
forgot to say that I of course added the focus to jaws’ braille displays
and set it as my default braille display.

Hello Andrew
Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately it did not help in my case. Seems
that my problem is different from yours since I had no issues with pairing the
focus with Windows but after that Jaws simply doesn’t connect to the display
for some reason. However thanks to your message I now know that this should be
possible.

2017-08-14 Thread Andrew Lamanche
Hello Otto,

I have recently had to pair my Focus blue with Windows 10 which I run in vmware
fusion. I had quite a bit of a problem making Focus work but eaventually
succeeded. I had to go to bluetooth advanced options in settings in windows 10
and check the box which allows my pc to be discoverable to other bluetooth
devices. It would appear that whilst my computer was seeing my focus, my focus
wasn't seeing my computer, and" that was the problem. Only then was I able to
enter the default pairing code which is and then everything went smoothly.
 Hope this will help.

VMware fusion and focus blue connection issue

2017-07-22 Thread Otto Hylli
Hello
Has anybody gotten a focus blue braille display working successfully with Jaws
via a bluetooth connection in a VMware Fusion Windows virtual machine? I got
the focus blue successfully paired with Windows 10 but Jaws is not able to
connect to it for some reason. The focus works all right via bluetooth with
VoiceOver on Mac OS and with Jaws on my Windows laptop and desktop.
Unfortunately I cannot simply use USB since the USB port on my focus is

I tried pairing the focus with Windows two times. For the second try I removed
the focus from the Mac OS bluetooth devices just in case though I had
voiceover off in any case. I also restarted Jaws multiple times and also
restarted Windows with no luck.
