I filed a bug report: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3335
Did anybody else have similar results? Am I the onlyone? Please comment this

I do have the same problem. First I thought the file system is corrupt but I
could not confirm this yet.
Then I tried to reload the map tiles but mm kept crashing. I have to admit that
I did not check bugzilla yet if someone else had the same problem.
I am running maemo mapper 2.3.1 on n810.

Hi Simon,
I read your project announcement [1] about an dsp based ogg tremor support [2]

Hi,
I read an interesting thread about overclocking the n800 [1]. Based on that I
started experimenting with the n800 running OS2008. The OS scales the cpu
frequency nicely from 165MHz up to 400MHz.
The current cpu scaling can be checked with
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_cu
Hi,
FYI: Just found this news from TI about freeing the DSP toolchain to open
source developers,

Could someone (with more technical expertise then me) comment on this?

Hi
I just saw that the voice codec g.729 ships with the new firmware 4.2007.26-8.
Does anyone know if skype uses this codec?

Hi 770 enthusiasts!
I also flashed the Hacker Edition on my 770. It works way better than I
thought - and also better than the last official it OS2006 :)
I prefer to use the ext2 file system on my Linux powered internet tablets.
Here is what I did – a little how to:

Hi,
I just couldn't resist and installed the hackeredition (fiasco image) on my
n770. It worked well for some time but now I get "Systemerror 2." message on
start up and I don't have the onscreen keyboard anymore. Anytime I click a
textinput field nothing happens. Any ideas?

Hi,
today I compiled flac plugins for gstreamer. Playback works using ...
gst-launch-0.10 filesrc location=music.flac ! flacdec ! audioconvert !
dsppcmsink
It works well. The average cpu usage is around 10%.

After failing to combine theora and tremor I played with the n800 web cam.
Theora encoding can be done by (as example)
gst-launch-0.10 v4l2src !
ffmpegcolorspace ! "video/x-raw-yuv",width=640,height=480,framerate=30/1 !

Hi Stefan
I applied the patch. It compiled okay. However, gst-inspect will not register
the tremor plug in anymore. Why is that?
I also tried

More testing would be good.
I wish I had more time. Too bad I have to work for food ;-)

Hi Diego & Levi,
thanks for your feedback. To be honest I was inspired by Canola. I really like
the Canola user interface and I think that this is a good way to use and
navigate a device such as the 770 or the n800.
I would like to see more apps that take advantage of the "finger navigation".
Hi
Klaus Rotter has released an extendet version of the great game bomberman:
https://garage.maemo.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=604
As you can see on the screenshot [1] you can now navigate with your fingers! I
think it looks great and it is very easy to play now!
Please test this version and

Hi
When I try to become root in an xterminal (sudo su -, or sudo gainroot) it
often fails and I end up with this error message.
"unable to lookup Nokia770-39 via gethostbyname()"
I have no clue what this means since it used to work just fine with the first
version of itos 2006 using instructio
Hi Zoran,
I am not familiar with bsd, but one option would be to use a live Linux distro
such as Knoppix (runs completely from cd - no installation needed!)
Another way is to install necessary programs on your n770:
As root:
apt-get install e2fsprogs
This will install e.g. mkfs.ext2 and mkf

Hi Marcelo,
thanks for the reply. I would like to make some points more clear:
1) I really love Canola and I appreciate the effort the caola team went
trough! I am impressed by the smooth functionality, the eye candy, the user
interface and the web based configuration client! Well done! Keep go

Hello List,
I followed these instructions
(http://maemo.org/platform/docs/multimedia/getting_started.html) to get ogg
support working.
Compiling and installation went fine: when I tap on an ogg file the audio
player starts (at least something ;-) ) followed by an error message about
