Hello all,
First of all a big thank you to Jorge for his willingness to package
gpe-mini-browser for maemo. I didn't feel like jumping through all the
hoops/problems to get the maemo SDK to work with a recent kernel (as I need it
to use my RAID controller).

Well I am the developer of it and I once made packages for the previous
version of the software. I have
ns that would be really nice.

SH and ping). Have you any firewall running? Is
apache running? Can you connect to it using the localhost interface?
So it comes down to checking your PC setup, as you seem to have done something
wrong there. This seems to be in no way related to the 770.

You need to use fakeroot inside scratchbox to install an application (or
run the app-installer-tool I guess...)
Installing a deb package is easy. Just do fakeroot dpkg
-i /path-to/packagename.deb
Hopes this helps,

n done. And if they manage to pick up the good
things from the community it will become a killer product. So they
definitely need to work on point 3. Apart from that the used toolkit
point is completely moot. The 770 would probabely be as good/bad as it
is now regardless of GTK or QT.

er" succeed.
I made some changes recently (released a new version for GPE) and have made a
rather important fix in gtk-webcore so I might be making a new package for
maemo soon too.
If you need other help you can always ask me. Take into account that
gtk-webcore is a bit flaky atm, so 99% of
hing was working fine
(except that it had a pretty large footprint) I have some trimmed down gtkhtml
sourc here : http://stag.mind.be/gpe-helpviewer.html. Mainly I reduced the
dependencies in this one.
Hope this is of any use to you.

Get the version from cvs at

Gtk-webcore is available at gtk-webcore.sourceforge.net
