I have been following the thread on the bluetooth icon with some
interest and would like to get some clarification on some matters.
As i understood it the UI in Maemo is closed so to speak ie Nokia are
not giving out the spcs or did i misunderstand it?

It can be done by editing the desktop file and removing the mandatory line
or by using my quick deb to do it:
