Hi 770 enthusiasts!

I also flashed the Hacker Edition on my 770. It works way better than I
thought - and also better than the last official it OS2006 :)
I prefer to use the ext2 file system on my Linux powered internet tablets.
Here is what I did – a little how to:

I added to following lines to /etc/init.d/rcS to load the necessary kernel
modules during boot up:
/sbin/insmod /mnt/initfs/lib/modules/current/mbcache.ko
/sbin/insmod /mnt/initfs/lib/modules/current/ext2.ko

After a reboot you should see the modules with “lsmod”.

Now the interesting part: if you load the modules on an n800 and you insert a
ext2 formated mmc or sd card the ext2 file system will be mounted
automatically. If you try this with the hacker edition on the 770 you get the
message “filesystem brocken ...”.

This is related to the script that mounts inserted cards:
/usr/sbin/osso-mmc-mount.sh

The script from n800 has a section for mounting ext2 file systems. This
section is missing in the hacker edition version. Replacing the hacker
edition version with the n800 version worked for me.

Regards

Krischan
