[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1632917] [NEW] Page created in wrong institution theme

2016-10-12 Thread Kristina Hoeppner
Public bug reported:

Tested on Mahara 16.10dev

When you are a member of 2 or more institutions, you can switch the
themes in your account settings page to the institution theme that you
want to browse the site in.

When you create a page though, one of the institution themes is chosen
and in my case it wasn't the one of the institution I had selected.

To replicate:

1. Set up institutions "School" and "University" and give each a different
theme, i.e. not the site theme.
2. Set up a user who is a member in both institutions.
3. Log in and in the account settings, choose the school theme.
4. Create a page -> it takes on the school theme, which is correct.
5. Switch the theme in the account settings to "University".
6. The site displays in the university institution theme -> correct.
7. Create a page -> The school theme is selected -> This is not correct. It
should display the university theme.
8. When you go to the page that you created under 4, it also still displays the
school theme when it should show the university theme as that is your browsing
theme.

The theme displayed to the user when browsing the site or creating a
page should always be the one selected in account settings as that is
the only way to know what the user's preference is.

This is unrelated to being able to choose a page theme. When that
functionality is enabled, users should be able to "pin" a specific theme
to a page, but only then. At all other times, the institution theme /
theme chosen in their account settings page should be the one used for
browsing their own portfolio.

There is no way to switch the theme to a "new" / other institution when
page themes aren't turned on (which they aren't always).

** Affects: mahara
 Importance: Medium
 Status: Confirmed

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1632913] [NEW] Artefact comments not exported in Leap2A properly

2016-10-12 Thread Kristina Hoeppner
Public bug reported:

tested on Mahara 16.10dev

Public comments on artefacts and pages are automatically exported when
choosing Leap2A. However, you only see "Comment" when you import the
portfolio into a new account. That is not very good as we might as well
not import the comment text. ;-)

The public comments should be exported with the proper text. Attached
comment files are being taken along correctly.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1632912] [NEW] Choose whether to include comments or not in Leap2A export

2016-10-12 Thread Kristina Hoeppner
Public bug reported:

When you export a portfolio / account via HTML, you can decide whether
to include comments or not.

You do not have that option for Leap2A and they are just exported (that
was added some time ago). However, we should leave it up to the person
whether they wanted comments included or not.

Not having comments included is beneficial for exporting into a
different instance of Mahara when moving organizations for example.

Bug #1632913 is partially related.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1632883] [NEW] Error messages hard to read in certain themes

2016-10-12 Thread Kristina Hoeppner
Public bug reported:

Mahara 16.10dev

The "Modern" theme overwrites the call stack background color and makes
it dark blue. With that color, the on-screen error messages are very
difficult to read (see attachment).

It would be better to go with the default colors that we have for the
error stack.

Pre-requisite:
1. Turn on developer mode so you can see error messages on the screen.
2. Generate an error message.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1632717] Re: Bugs after updating Mahara

2016-10-12 Thread Robert Lyon
Another thing you can do is check to see if there are any other broken
groups

SELECT id, name FROM `group` WHERE id NOT IN (SELECT `group` FROM view
WHERE `group` > 0 AND type = 'grouphomepage') AND deleted = 0;

It should return an empty set if all groups are fine.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1632717] Re: Bugs after updating Mahara

2016-10-12 Thread Robert Lyon
Hi Antonella,

The errors you are seeing comes from this scenario:

You visit a group owned page and that page tries to fetch the name of
the group it belongs to so it can display that name as page's author by
fetching the info from the group's homepage.

But for some reason in this instance the group's homepage can't be
found, which is very strange as one shouldn't be able to delete the
group's homepage via Mahara itself.

I could replicate getting the same errors when I changed one of my
groups homepage view (via db) from type = 'grouphomepage' to type =
'portfolio'.

Can I get you to find the page you are trying to view in the database
and therefore find out it's group id number.

 SELECT title,`group` FROM view WHERE id = [ID];

where you replace the [ID] with the view id of the page.

Once you find the group id then do a query like:

SELECT id,title,type FROM view where `group` = [ID];

where you replace the [ID] with the group id number you found.

Normally it should show something similar to:

 id | title | type
++
 62 | Group page 1 | portfolio
 53 | Group page 2 | portfolio
 51 | Group homepage | grouphomepage

where one (and only one) of the group's pages is the type grouphomepage

If there are no pages with type = grouphomepage then can you either set
one of the existing pages (via db) for the group to be type =
grouphomepage

Or you can go to the group (via browser) and on the Pages tab click
'create page', give it a title and save (no need to edit content yet).
Get it's id by looking at the url in browser and then (via db) update
that page to be type grouphomepage.

 UPDATE view SET type = 'grouphomepage' WHERE id = [ID];

where you replace the [ID] with the page's id number you want to use.

Then reload the page in browser and you should see the title of the page
has changed to 'Group homepage' and you will be able to add group
homepage blocks to it now.

Add what you need and then click 'Return to group pages'.

So now when you go to view the page that was broken before it should
display fine.

If you are able to shed any light into how the grouphomepage got removed
that would be very helpful too

Cheers

Robert

Title:
Allow users to self-issue webservice access tokens

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
For the generation 2 Mahara mobile app (
https://github.com/maharaproject/mahara-mobile ), we want users to be
able to generate the access tokens they need via the app itself,
rather than the current process where users have to log in to Mahara
in a web browser, go to their account settings page, scroll to the
bottom and manually create an access token (typing in its value
themselves), then launch the mobile app and write that same access
  token into the mobile app.

Instead, we envision a process the same as the Moodle Mobile app. The
user is presented with a username/password field, they enter their
credentials there, and the app then does the dirty work of talking to
the Mahara server, requesting the access token, and storing it.

In order to support SSO options, there also needs to be an alternative
flow, where the app opens an embedded iframe that displays the Mahara
login form, and returns the access token value back to the app when
  done.

Title:
Text box title duplicated and only one instance updated

Status in Mahara:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
When a new text box is created, its original title goes into the
database in two places: artefact.title and block_instance.title.
However if the title is then edited, only block_instance.title gets
updated; artefact.title retains the original title.

This becomes an issue when the text box is viewed on its own, when
both titles are displayed (whereas in the page view only the updated
block_instance.title is displayed). The page owner is unable to update
the original title via the Mahara interface as it doesn't appear at
  all when editing the block.

I think there are really two issues here: firstly that the title is
only updated in one place, but also that both titles are displayed
when the text box is viewed on its own. If the title has never been
edited, the same title is displayed twice, which is unnecessary.

This has been tested in Mahara 1.8.1 on Ubuntu 13.10 with a Postgres
  database.
