Thank you very much for your feedback and help. I have upgraded to 1.7.2
which has solved a few other minor issues. However I am still
experiencing a few RSS issues. They do now appear but do not update.
I tried the code you provided in my config file and get this message:

No, we have not. The only other issue at the moment is that the server
