Public bug reported: Some users have reported spam messages being sent to them by mahara.org users.
These spammers have manually created accounts on Mahara.org and just emailed (via direct messages within Mahara) a large number of users, copy and pasting the same code. A solution would be to queue up all user-to-user emails (for say 5 or 10 minutes) and wait to see if a given user sends the exact same message to a large number of users (say more than 5 people ?) in that time. If that's the case, then the other emails should be discarded and a warning sent to the site admin. ** Affects: mahara Importance: Undecided Status: New -- queue user-to-user messages and remove duplicates https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/593500 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Mahara Contributors, which is subscribed to Mahara.
