Hello sprinters!
Once again, the GNU Mailman project will be sprinting at Pycon, this time the
2014 conference in Montreal. I've created a placeholder page for adding ideas
about what you would like to work on, as well as our priorities. We'll be
filling out details over the next few weeks, but

I am saying that if you make this choice, you should not place the
burden of this choice upon others by asking them to Cc you on replies.

Hey folks, it looks like we're going to have a quorum of core developers at
Pycon 2012 in Santa Clara, so we will definitely be sprinting on Mailman 3.
We'll be primarily working on the integration of the core engine with the
official Django-based web ui. If you want to participate, kibbitz, or

move us to it? I'm a bog-standard user so not ready for something that is
still going through early tests and doesn't have everything set up
The short answer is no, you do not want to ask for an upgrade yet.
An alpha release is an early one, prior to the product being ready for
all users. Wikipedia has a reasonable page explaining how software
releases are often named:

As you know, Mailman 2.1 has long been in maintenance-only mode.
Mailman 2.2 was where we were going to add new features and update the
user interface, without changing the basic model. Mailman 3 was where
we were going to fix the model and modernize the architecture to allow

Here's the plan: Mark is going to put a 2.1.13 bug fix release out soon
and will continue to fix only the most important bugs on the 2.1 branch.
He'll forward port those fixes to the 2.2 branch for the few people who
are running it from source, but there
