Hi Mark!  Both of your replies made it to me in full.  And you were 100%
correct -- bin/arch --wipe listname resolved it!

I thought I replied appropriately in this thread, but I happened to look 
in the archive and my post there contains only a brief quote from the OP 
and no actual reply.


So, what I meant to say, if it didn't come through is you need to clear 
and rebuild the archive with


bin/arch --wipe listname

assuming the cumulative mbox is 
archives/private/listname.mbox/listname.mbox - if not provide the path 
to the mbox as an additional argument.


See bin/arch --help.

Those are static HTML pages. in order to rebuild them you would need to 
do something like


bin/arch --wipe listname archives/private/listname.mbox/listname.mbox
