I use DavMail to receive and handle messages from my exchange account
with MailMate. That works. But: If I send a message I always get a the
sent message and a duplicate of the sent message. Is there any
workaround to fix this?

I would not think that you would have to this but have you right-clicked
on the Inbox associated with the Yahoo account and selected
“Synchronize INBOX”?
