You can add rules to the Inbox and use rules condition but I find it a
lot easier to use rules on smart folders.

I first create a smart folder with the criteria I need, in this case to
catch all mailing-lists.

Condition: list-id -> identifier exist
Submailboxes: list-id -> identifier, name format:
${list-id.identifier.final-level:/capitalize}

When I have confirmed that the right e-mails are matched I apply the
needed rules action(s) to the smart folder.

Rules action: Move to mailbox "example"

[MlMt] Iphone spam filtering

2017-01-15 Thread Annamarie

Hi all

Puzzled. I have six different email addresses coming into MM and onto my
iPhone. Four are domains I own. All are on a Hostgator server. On only
one of those accounts do I get spam on my iPhone. I've been through all
the documentation.

According to SpamSieve

"If the spam messages are still in the iPhone’s inbox, try logging
into your mail account via Web mail.
If everything looks good in Web mail, there is likely a problem with
your iPhone’s connection to the mail server.
If the spam is in the Web mail inbox but not the Mac’s, there is
likely a problem with the mail program on your Mac."

I've got the latter situation. The spam showing up in Webmail. I can't
see how any of the other accounts are any different than this one.
Ideas?

Thanks
Annamarie

Re: [MlMt] Inbox vs All Messages

I expected All Messages to show me more messages than source, because

not really mean all.

Is there a description of those standard mailboxes in the
documentation? I can’t seem to find it.

All Messages is everything except for Junk and Trash. The main purpose
of All Messages is to use it for searches for which you would usually
not want junk/trash, but you can always ⌘-click these folders if you
need to include them in a search. Doing that should give you the maximum
number of matched messages.

[MlMt] Apply Rules on Inbox

2017-01-15 Thread Bram Heerink
Hi there,

I want to move all mail with an List-Id **and** is older than 7 days to a
specific folder. I read somewhere that the Rules will be checked if mail gets
delivered to the inbox. So, this results in no e-mails moved. But apply rules
does nothing to. How is this supposed to work?

Thanks for the confirmation. Hopefully I can reproduce the horizontal

If it helps, it looks like I can reproduce it. Maybe I can use a debug
version or get you some other information if that helps.

I've put it to the right myself now and hopefully I'll trigger it at
some point.
