Re: [MlMt] very slow autofill of addresses

2024-01-27 Thread John Doherty
This is a good idea, Bill, I just did something similar. I haven't
really had a problem with autofill being slow but it does sometimes pick
up addresses that I'm not very interested in.

One thing I noticed: a "Date is within last X years" condition seems to
mean calendar years, so "Date is within last 1 years" only selects
messages from after Jan 1 2024. So I used "Date is within last 365
days." Easy to adjust later, we'll see how it goes. Good idea, though!

Re: [MlMt] Longtime user struggling with version

2024-01-27 Thread Eric Sharakan via mailmate
Hi Verdon, there's a known issue with users getting kicked off the
mailing list. It seems to mostly impact folks with gmail addresses.
After I got silently kicked off twice, I switched to using my iCloud
email and haven't had a problem since.

Also, I agree 100% with Henry, grab a more recent version. Although they
might be labeled "test" versions, there have been many bug fixes
implemented by Benny since the last "official" release. The simplest
way to get it is to hold down the option key while clicking the "Check
Now" button in MM's Software Update preference pane.

Regards.

Hi,

Longtime licensed user here, infrequent poster to list.

I am using MM Version 1.14 (5964) with MacOS 14.2 (23C64). To be
honest, it sucks and has for sometime. Its fine once everything gets
running, but if I have a crash or a restart, it can take more than
45 minutes for Mailmate to get running again, and during that time,
nothing else runs properly on my Mac. Restarts have cost me more
than an hour in getting a functional system with my apps all up and
running. Its nasty!

Going to the Mailmate website says I should be running the public
beta, which I think is what I am running now. If I hold my option
key and check Mailmate for updates, it tells me I should downgrade
to 5673. So, before I downgrade, or just go back to Apple Mail, any
suggestions?

Thanks and best wishes

2024-01-27 Thread Henry Seiden

Hey Verdon,

Going from either of the two version you have used to the latest version
experimental build (r6019) might not be a direct jump. You have a couple
options to get there:

1. Download the absolute latest version from [MailMate’s archive web
listing](https://updates.mailmate-app.com/archives/) of ALL versions.
For me that is the easiest to access.
2. In newest versions the Update features Setting may be available
(Settings>Updates> Beta Releases). In checking from where I’m at now
nothing new is shown.
3. Other access points in previous MailMate iterations have, ”Check
for Test Build” option in the Menu (MailMate>⌥+Check for Test Build)
or the above #2.
4. There is no documentation as to which versions have which activated
links in to update path within the app, that I know of. That is why #1
is the place I go to get the latest. However the caveat is that you’ll
need to read all the changes since the r5764 to see how MailMate has
evolved.
5. The last version that I considered stable BEFORE the current one is
r6015.

My MailMate works in MacOS 14.3, the latest MacOS Release. It also works
fine in MacOS Beta 14.4, the latest beta. I’ve had no crashes as of
late, except one lingering issue with one source account,
Outlook/Windows Live.

My system: MailMate/6019/282BCB28-893E-51E7-891E-F3272BC540D1
14.3.0/arm64/MacBookPro18,3/10
