My 2¢… On my version of MM, 1.14 Test Build 5964, also on the last
official Beta release of 1.14 (5937) (you can get a list of all releases
from the Help Menu, without installing them), the double-click, assuming
that is what you are doing, does indeed open a read-only version of

Hasn’t been asked. I’m double-clicking on the attachment - as I have
for the many years I’ve been using MM. It’s fine if I download and
then open the file. But that’s an annoying extra step, right?
