That may be why we are getting a different response. Many of us use
our IETF logins with the server.

If you want to test that out, you can get one from
   https://tools.ietf.org/newlogin

That failed to work for me, but I realized what the problem is with the
QUOTA handling. The problem is that MailMate assumes the IMAP account
has an INBOX when checking for quotas. (I've fixed it by skipping the
quota check when no INBOX exists even though, theoretically, quotas
might still be relevant for the account.)

Hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update
preferences pane to test the fix. Also, disable the hidden preference:

defaults delete com.freron.MailMate MmIMAPQuotaDisabled

Many thanks for your quick reply; that did indeed work.

If you are interested, the server is a public IMAP server with all of
the IETF's mailing lists on it. It's "imap.ietf.org". (I suspect that
more than an handful of your users rely on it.)

I actually tested that server, but I get:

C: A8 GETQUOTAROOT INBOX
S: A8 OK GETQUOTA completed

If needed, I can get you in touch with the site maintainer, if that
would help.

Hmm, seems like it might be a server issue, but we'll debug it later.

I have to keep that server offline.

1) How can I help debug?

2) How can I revert. Getting mail from this server is critical to my
work.

Let me know if that does not help.
