Works fine here. That way, you can subscribe from all folders (except for the [Gmail] folder if it is a GMail-Account). Not exactly what he asked for (i.e., no auto-subscription in the first place) but maybe a good enough solution. Just for the record, this is not officially supported :-) In fact, I'm not even sure it'll work since I've never tried it. People on this list are just trying to help. I'm the only one who can be blamed for any annoying MailMate behavior. The sent/draft/... folders are not magic folders in the sense that some email clients generate folders to maintain private state. They are needed to store, e.g., drafts and sent messages, but clearly you are using MailMate in a different way and I think this why it's annoying behavior in your eyes. Unfortunately, MailMate currently needs these folders to work properly. What you probably need is some feature to place sent messages elsewhere (and probably also drafts), but such a feature currently does not exist. Sorry. -- Benny ___ mailmate mailing list mailmate@lists.freron.com https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate

Randy - if you use smart folders you have 100% control over which folders you see. Then close the sources folder. That is the way to do what you ask. /max http://about.me/maxandersen On 18 Feb 2017, at 05:22, Randy Bush wrote: >>> my issue is that i do not want to be gratuitously subscribed to new >>> mailboxes in SOURCES. i maintain the list very carefully, and have >>> a length constraint due to screen real estate. >> >> Create subfolders to hold all of the mandatory mailboxes per account and >> keep it unexpanded? > > works, and only costs me one list item instead of N. thanks. > > randy > ___ > mailmate mailing list > mailmate@lists.freron.com > https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate ___ mailmate mailing list mailmate@lists.freron.com https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate

Re: [MlMt] don't like auto-add
Let me rephrase it. Sources is where the messages are actually officially stored. MM keeps copies on your computer but they are just that, copies. MM does not have offline mailboxes. If the lists of mailboxes in Sources is overwhelming for you, you might try to create a set of smart mailboxes to give you access to your mails in the way it is practical and useful for you.
