Re: [mailop] Gmail Postmaster IP reputation shift on July 2nd

2019-07-07 Thread Toshi Onishi via mailop
Hi Mathieu

Same here - 50% of our IPs went from Medium to Bad, then went back up to
Medium next day and now its sitting at Low.

Domain reputation and others remained same at Medium, no spikes in
complaints either.

[mailop] Gmail and website rankings

2022-10-26 Thread Toshi Onishi via mailop
Hi

Was wondering if someone at Gmail can help me with this question - apparently
Google shares domain reputation amongst the different divisions.

So this means that if they identify someone as a spammer and are able to tie
their website, it affects both their website ranking and inbox delivery (and
vice versa)?

Was advised to check the archives but I suspect either I overlooked or I'm out
of keywords to search with.

Re: [mailop] ChatGPT explains it to us

2022-12-07 Thread Toshi Onishi via mailop
Differentiate between spam and email

Spam and email are both forms of electronic communication, but they are quite
different from one another. Email is a legitimate form of communication in
which individuals or organizations can exchange messages, files, and other
information. Email messages are typically sent from one person to another, or
to a small group of people, and are intended to be read and responded to by the
recipient.

Spam, on the other hand, is unsolicited and unwanted email that is sent in bulk
to a large number of recipients. Spam messages are often sent for the purpose
of advertising or promoting a product or service, or for spreading malware or
other malicious content. Unlike legitimate email, spam is not addressed to a
specific person or organization, and is typically ignored or deleted by the
recipient.

In summary, the main difference between spam and email is that spam is
unsolicited and unwanted, while email is a legitimate form of communication
that is intended to be read and responded to by the recipient.

Even the AI knows consent is key.

Explain why spam is bad

Spam is bad for a number of reasons. Firstly, it can be annoying and intrusive
for the person receiving it. It can also waste their time if they have to sort
through large amounts of spam emails to find the messages that are actually
important. Additionally, spam can be used to spread malware or phishing scams,
which can harm the recipient's computer or trick them into giving out sensitive
information. This can have serious consequences, both for the individual and
for society as a whole. In short, spam is bad because it can be disruptive,
dangerous, and wasteful.

Explain why spam is good

Spam is not generally considered to be good. It is a type of unsolicited and
unwanted electronic communication, often in the form of email or text messages.
Spam is typically seen as a nuisance, as it can clog up email and messaging
systems, making it difficult to sort through legitimate messages. In addition,
spam is often used to spread malware, phishing scams, and other types of online
fraud, which can be harmful to individuals and businesses. Because of these
reasons, most people and organizations try to avoid spam as much as possible.

How can I make money using e-mail?

There are a few legitimate ways to make money using email. One way is to create
and sell email marketing campaigns to businesses. This can involve creating
email newsletters, promotional messages, and other types of content that
businesses can use to reach out to their customers. Another way to make money
using email is to become an affiliate marketer. This involves promoting
products or services in your email messages and earning a commission on any
sales that are made as a result. However, it is important to note that sending
spam emails to make money is illegal and can result in significant fines and
other penalties.

John
