This individual sets strategy, architectural principles and standards, taking into account capability, capacity, flexibility and scalability for both physical and logical configurations. He/she works with peers in other technology verticals to ensure full interoperability with other platforms, systems and applications. The Senior Consultant will be expected to lead technical discussions (in his/her area of subject matter expertise) with teams across CTO and Application Development. The candidate may also be asked to lead cross-functional teams on strategic projects that cross boundaries of technology/responsibility and that involve complex network designs. The individual is expected to stay informed of current industry trends and emerging technologies, with ongoing evaluations of new technology, products, and services for potential and opportunity as future networking solutions at TD Ameritrade. Main Accountability 1: Define Strategy Examples: • Establish and maintain an integrated network architecture framework that aligns with other infrastructure and application strategy’s to ensure a fully integrated path forward that works effectively and efficiently, enhancing security, reliability and availability. • Research new networking concepts and/or placement and functionality of network services in new architectures/paradigms like external cloud environments, hyper-converged devices, container-based solutions, etc. Main Accountability 2: Define Infrastructure Standards and Governance Examples: • Document and maintain the existing and future network architecture standards including adherence to IT policies, procedures, and processes. • Ensure proper governance is followed for infrastructure projects/initiatives.
