To follow up: 1. MapGuide is running on IIS 2. WIndows Server 2008 R2 64 BIT 3. .NET Build I think the issue is the initialization of mapguide with IIS on 64 bit windows - this seems to take at least a few minutes (up to 5-8min). This is not an issue with Apache just IIS and MapGuide on 64 bit.
