Gunter,
In my case it appears to be an issue with S-L King 8.15. My MG byte reader
returns empty, fdo2fdo returns a _bad_ geometry error and the FDO Toolkit
returns a _null_ value. All seem to point to FDO.
After I read Julien’s post I got real serious and stepped through my code.
My SDF provider
it most definately a bug!
if you can attach a mgp which demonstrates the problem it would be great!

Hi Dennis, hi Zac,
At the moment I'm just using the SDF Provider (no oracle test data needed,
thanks). So, I assume that there are no FDO related issues in this provider.
Like I said in my first post, I can write a MgMultiGeometry into the
FeatureSource without any problem. Only problem I think i
Gunter, it is your thread. If you need test data(Oracle only) give me a
shout.

Zak,
No more research but I did forget to mention that when I attempted to view
collection geometry objects(Oracle gtype=4) w/FDO Toolbox they come up
.
Maybe it is an FDO issue? FDO does have a specific enum for
FdoGeometryType_MultiGeometry = 7, ALL of the other types work just fine.
hhhmmm...

Hi,
I confirm that using a MgFeatureReader with a "geometry collection" (in my
case: polygon and polyline
I guess this is more a fdo issue, i am going to forward this on to the
fdo-users mailing list
silent failing and data loss is nasty, however esoteric it is

Zak,
I did do just a bit more research. Yes, you dialoged on the issue back
in Dec. 2007 and it looks to me that the _issue_ has gotten worse or, at
best, stayed the same.

i remember someone posting a few screen shots about this a while ago
ideally the provider should either throw an exception or handle this properly
I'm not even sure if other providers work ( and mapguide generally )
with collections?

Gunter,
I am using KingOra(8.15)
It looks to me like _COLLECTION_ type geometry is not supported or not
working(I probably should know but do not). I managed to find an Oracle 10g2
object:
MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2004,2236,null,MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1,2,1,5,1003,1),MDSYS.SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(89338
