Thanks for the feedback. Yes, my data is only numeric - meaning I am trying
to draw points (X column and Y column) using the ODBC FDO Connector.
I have used Uppercase USER.
I have tried two connectors (both XE Client and XE Quick Client).
I have tried users that are DBA (including system).

There should be some way for Studio to put that in, but I'm not sure

Hi, there are a few workarounds for this one:
1. Create a thematic layers based on TYPE_POLUTION and hard-code text into
the labels.
2. Create multiple layers filtered on TYPE_POLUTION
3. Create a lookup table in a database (i.e. Access) and join it to your
data for tooltips based on TYPE_POLUTION
"controls: [new
OpenLayers.Control.KeyboardDefaults()]"
3. I use OpenLayers to add the google layer
3. I use OpenLayers to add the MapGuide layer
4. Onload I trigger a print()
that's it.
It's fun using the OpenLayers map as a print for MapGuide...

I think its around line 1199 in fusion.js:
if(appDefUrl){
var xhr = new XMLHttpRequest();
var mapAgentUrl = getAgentUrl();
xhr.open("GET", mapAgentUrl +
"?OPERATION=GETRESOURCECONTENT&VERSION=1.0.0&LOCALE=en&CLIENTAGENT=MapGuide+Developer&RESOURCEID="
+ appDefUrl + "&FO
This is True for SLATE too.

Here is a weird one - I have MapTips with this URL launched from Studio 2010
(with MGOS 2.1):
http://localhost/mapguide/fusion/templates/mapguide/google_slate/index.html?APPLICATIONDEFINITION=Library%3a%2f%2fWEB_LAYOUT%2ftest.ApplicationDefinition
but not this one:
http://localhost/mapguide/fus
Here is what solved it:
The APPLICATIONDEFITION was originally created with Maestro and I couldn't
view MapTips with GOOGLE in the background. I completely recreated the
definition using MapGuide Studio 2010 and voila, it was corrected. I am not
sure of the difference between the XML created fr
Hi Jason,
I will be presenting a 90 minute tutorial on the fundamentals of MapGuide in
Barcelona.
I will cover:
- Install (Both Server and Web Extensions)
- Configuration of Server (http://localhost/mapguide/mapadmin/login.php)
- Using Maestro (maybe Studio too)
- Publishing to the web (fusion
The google stuff function just sets the default base layer (in this case
google streets) when the map loads..
(I place it in the INDEX.htm page of one of the Fusion Templates (
var addGoogleStuff = function() {
var mapWidget = Fusion.getWidgetById('Map');
var map = mapWidget.oMapOL;
mapWidget.fr
No, you just need to add that code (and ensure you have links to
OpenLayers.js and Google Maps API) in your Index.htm of the Template.

Try:
window.onload = function() {
Fusion.initialize();
var mapWidget = window.top.iFrameMap.Fusion.getWidgetById('Map');
SESSION = mapWidget.getSessionID();
MAPNAME = mapWidget.getMapName();
alert(SESSION);
alert(MAPNAME);

Hi Jackie, I meant to figure out how to run Maestro on my Mac Book for a
while now and I figured it out.
I put the steps on my blog at
http://www.mapguide.ca
I have noticed that the Previews do not work (usually they load a browser)
but they don't launch a browser (except for Fusion Layout)..
H
Yes, this fella seems to have a similar problem with MONO on the Mac:
http://www.theautomatedtester.co.uk/blog/2010/mono-mac-process-start-issues.html
Perhaps a tweak to Maestro is in order? I don't know if anyone else is
using Maestro on the mac...it is handy to not open VMWARE FUSION each time
Would it work to create a Calculated Field (Area) and then view it in
Properties?

Hi, about 12 years or so ago, I came up with a trick for the old MapGuide..I
would create a coordinate system using the Oblique Sterographic with
OSTEROUS coordinates with WGS84.
"Gord's Coords" they called it.
You can set the parameters such as:
49.212405556
-122.917
Hmm, if I had the PROJ definition for this coordinate system, I would:
1. Load the MapDefintion into DOMDocument in XML.
2. Modify the PROJ string to rotation to the P1 value in the Coordinate
System.
3. Add this modified coordinate system to the XML version of the Map.
4. Save the MapDefinition.
Hi, in your server name, take out the "http://";
Change to: 142.142.41.157:8008
