I am not sure if there is a shorter way of doing this - here what I would
do:
1. In MapInfo, go to Table Export {Select save as type: dBASE DBF
(*.dbf)}
2. In Microsoft Excel, open this (*.dbf) file and save it as Microsoft Excel
Workbook (*.xls)
3. In Microsoft Word, open (*.xls) file

Probably the best way is to export the table to a .dbf file (Table | Export,
select dBase as file type), open the .dbf in Excel, fix whatever was lost in
the process (all fonts, etc), copy your newly formatted Excel spreadsheet
and then paste / past special it into Word. Unless you have
Recently I have written a programme to find the open tables and
it will send to excel (in DBF format) later you can save it the
way you want, here is the code :
(The only change you need to do is location of Excel and Temp
directory , if required)

Export Table as .txt (Save as Type pull down) to convenient folder / path
