Laith,

you should just be able to rename the file back to *.mif.  I've done this
100's of times without problem.  You are on the right track but it must be
something else you are doing.

What error message are you getting - or if none EXACTLY what are you doing?
I am sure that at the end of the day it is just a simple thing you are
overlooking.

Let me know if you are still stuck.

Dear Listers,

I am trying to convert a projection using the export to mif and change coord
sys clause.  
I find that notepad only allows me to save as .txt and MI will not import
this format.  

How can I convert my text file to mif so I can import it back into MI as a
.tab?

I've tried manually changing the file extention from txt to mif using
explorer, no luck.
