I recently asked if anyone had had problems with a Brother printer and
MapInfo. We have now solved the problem and thought others may find this of
interest.
What was required, was a combination of correct driver and correct emulation
setting.

Hi Grantley,
I am writing to ask what may be a very simple question which has me stuck
being a relatively novice user of MapInfo. I am using MI 6 Pro, and I have
scanned two 1:100 000 maps which are both in the same projection and have
the same datum information.
Since what you scanned seem
Yes - snap - turn snap off and the problem is fixed. You can turn it back on

Many thanks to everyone for the advice. The consensus seems to be
that it is a clash between the snap function and the grabber tool. Turning
snap off before attempting to use the grabber should cure the problem.
Bill Wemple from MapInfo also suggested reducing the acceleration of the
video card
I was curious if anyone is using these two products together. I don't want
to install HAZUS '99 until I know there are no incompatibilities. TIA

In MB, when you read/write a input file, you can specify the byteorder by saying high
or low. THis way you can control the oder of bytes while reading.

I have a simple question about workspaces and units used by MI.
Does Mi always write workspaces in inches?
I am trying to create workspaces that use metric paper units. So far I have

You might be able to use the unix command dd with the argument conv=swab to
byte-swap the file before copying to NT - it used to work with Landsat data

No way but inches. I have banged my hand into that one several "versions"

That should be done with only the x and y of a point rather than using the
tool and clicking on that point.

Title: RE: MI Tiger to MapInfo Professional
Have you thought about purchasing data already in MapInfo format? I have Tiger/Line files from GDT for the whole US that are already in MapInfo format and there are a ton of other vendors out there selling the same information (including MapInfo).
Gidday All,
I'm late to this thread so someone might have already said it, but as well
as ArcPad there area bunch of little Windows CE specific mapping programs
hanging around that are quite useful. Itils MapInPocket is really cool and
HandMap pro isn't too bad either. Both take GPS as a

Dear Gilbert,
It is because MapInfo can have only one object attached to one record, and
the object is already there, it is your polyon. In fact mixing polygons and
points is not either a good idea, and is even forbidden in Arcview. So I
suggest that you save a copy of your polygon table with
Thanks Neil, that was some good info. Surely nobody is terribly keen on
spending a million dollars getting up to speed with Oracle if they can help
it.
Has anybody had a go at developing using any Windows CE specific languages?
or is that just dreaming?
