Is there anyone having experience with MXJ 3 and Red Hat Linux ?
I still no success with MXJ 3.0 and RedHat 6.2 as far as symbols are concerned. To
summarize:
- I use the evaluation edition
- I run the Map Definition Manager with world.gst and us.gst
- every symbol is appearing as a character

Subject: MI MapXtreme - Jav
I'm trying to get MapXtremeJava set up with Apache.
When a request is made, here's what shows up in apache error log:
[Fri Sep 22 11:29:15 2000] [error] [client 192.168.100.214] Premature
end of script headers: /mapinfo/com.
mapinfo.mapxtreme.MapXtremeServlet
[Fri Sep 22 11:29:15 2000]
The following is probably of little concern for most of us as it does not deal with MI
but with MapXtreme Java 3.0.
Hope someone can help me anyway.
Hereby my problem:
Having lat/lon data in an Oracle table, I want to add a layer of symbols (and create a
MDF with the Map Definition Manager).
Hi All,
I am looking for feedback from people that have set up a MapXtreme application on a
UNIX workstation running Sun Solaris. Are there any problems with bringing MapInfo
TAB files across from Windows into Solaris? Other problems, or was the development
smooth sailing?
Looking forward

The information I have seen about MapXtreme Java indicates that TAB
files for raster images can be opened, along with GeoTIFF images. I am
using the Map Definition Manager to add them but have tried
unsuccessfully to get results when opening a TAB file that refers to a
registered TIFF. The TAB
in MAPINFO tables need to be
INDEXED!
Otherwise it was the same as below.
Thanks again

Mark,
There doesn't appear to be any Individual Values thematic "out of the box", but
it can be done in a round-about sort of way using the IDSelectionTheme
interface. The basic approach is a two-step process:
Step 1: Create a recordset using a Group By on the column you want to create

Is anyone aware of a quick and easy way around the absence of a getBounds()

Any suggestions are surely welcome!
