Where exactly shoud we define the projection
at the top of mapfile or with each layer
I am trying to use
'init=epsg:54004'
but its not changing the data projection
if I use proj=merc
only the projection of raster image changes and not the other data layers.
Any suggestions please

I am confused this is due to the extent I have set or projection definition
set in mapfile.
Please help as this is very urgent and I have a deadline to meet.

Dear All
I am trying to configure mapserver layer with google maps layer as base layer.
I tried the same but my mapserver layer is not showing up.
it just shows the google map layer.
I am using following code.

on different scales define different layers with different styles of roads
wherein u can mention different widths of roads
and also on higher scales u can keep labels off and as in layers of lower
