If you are willing to share a sample map file + this particular format
file, I can look into the kmz output issue.
If that is the case, wither send me the sample or open a trac bug and
attche the data. Please assign the bug to me (assefa).

input data (geotiff, shape and esri ascii grid):
It is OK with geotiff and shape but there is no result with grd (empty
image in temp).
If I try to generate png output it's OK for all.
